Peavey Classic 30? My old bandmate's was just as loud as my classic 50 at venues.

They are small, 50 watts, and around 30lbs in weight. The clean channel on them is superb.

Oh wow these sound great, they'd probably be impossible to find here though. :( Seems like my best bet is still a Blues Jr of some kind, you're right the 50lbs of the AC15 is far more than I'd like to carry for sure. Bummer.

Anyone has any experience with a Princeton clone? Or should I just stick to the tried-and-tested PRRI? The in-built trem and reverb is really appealing. I don't see why the 10" speaker would be a huge issue, unless I want ground-shaking fuzz, in which case :idk:

I've had an Egnater Tweaker 40 since May and it works awesomely for me. It's way louder than I expected and can keep it down to bedroom levels too. Honestly, the Tweaker 15 would work perfectly for me as well, but it's nice having the two channels.
+1 for egnater!

So in terms of weight alone I would say, of those two, go for the Blues Jr.

Maybe look at a Princeton if you don't mind a 10" speaker.

My first thought was the solid state princeton 2x10 chorus combo

although I feel like an old peavey bandit would do everything you need and be lighter

The weight of the ac15 is totally worth it if you ask me. I carry it and a hollowbody in a hard case together all the time, one in each hand. Consider it a few minutes of weight lifting, so you get more muscles AND more toanz.

Princeton Reverb all day long. "clean" being a relative thing. if you're clever you can find a silverface for close to the cost of the new circuit-board versions, but the RIs sound just like a Princeton should. now, if i had my druthers i'd get one of the 20W Laney Lionheart combos or a Marshall 18W. there's nothing in the least WRONG with a Classic 30 or an AC15, i just think a Princeton is lighter and easier to schlep...i could carry a PRRI around the house one-handed, while the Peavey or Vox would have me listing like the Andrea Doria.
