Re: Alternate tunings?
These all sound like fun. I've been having a great time with
AEAGBD
yeah I just tuned my lowest three strings to drop A. It's fun, but not as much fun as
BF#BF#BC#
or
BF#BGAC#

My friends band tunes to almost exclusively DAEAC#E

DAEABE
it's an awesome tuning.

Re: Alternate tunings?
This thread has inspired me to go back to Placebo tuning on my Dot (my main songwriting guitar), and its gonna stay that way for a while. Goddamn it sounds kickass. Anyone I jam with is just going to have to deal

Might wanna watch yourself. My Dot can't hold anything but Standard.

Re: Alternate tunings?
I've never really tried alternate tunings, but then again I'm just trying to get my bearings with standard. Just noodling around is great, but I worry that if I try an alternate tuning my over-a-year-old-stock-with-guitar strings will break.
Do you like listening to homemade music? Me too. Why don't you try one of mine?

Re: Alternate tunings?
I like C standard, DADGAD, Open G, and B standard. I kinda wanna mess around with Nashville tuning (all strings an octave up), but I don't think my guitar or my strings could handle that.

Tune it low, play it slow.

Haha, it's probably just as bad as it sounds, but I still want to fool around with it. That and G standard

Re: Alternate tunings?
it's actually very pretty. i've tried it on a guitar, sounds kinda like a mandolin or something. not tinny. i'd probably use it more to fill in a sound instead of being a solo instrument, obv.
