why would you modify them... they seem pretty perfect and have a lot of bells and whistles.

We won't rest until every parameter is footswitch/expression controllable and it's been rehoused into an MXR enclosure.

Re: So I just found out about Death by Audio's Echo Dream!
I have and love the Echo Dream but am only now hearing of momentary footswitch mods. In it's standard form, it's still quite badass tho. It can go subtle or add the strangest pitch bending modulation. Running it in Wet mode set to squarewave is like gorgeous, choppy, twisted insanity. Paired with fuzz it's even better. Only thing I've ever tried that came even close is the Clari(not) but I hear a Memory Boy can get halfway there too.
My only complaint early on was the outrageous fuzz volume, CRAZY LOUD like most DBA. I considered a volume control mod but tend to manage with guitar volume instead. If your amps set loud, it's not really an issue anyway. Also, stack it with a variety of fuzz for the real goods. Oh, and it was like $320 (or somewhere close to that?) last year around this time, got mine for Xmas, but shortly after it went up 100+ overnight.
I think they still build upon request, otherwise Chicago Music Exchange has a few and a Cyber Monday Sale going...

Im not sure that I could modify a $420 pedal. I'm pretty sure it would have to be perfect because I could put a few pedals together and do something similar.

It's way less than $420 when I've seen 'em go...

Mine came broken, and I still haven't been able to get DBA to reply to my emails and actually want to fix the pedal...
It just makes loud clicks and is generally unusable unless it is dialed back to a setting where it sounds like the pedal isn't even on. Maybe they stopped making them because there's too many problems with them?

It's funny how they covered their ass in the manual stating clicks are normal in fuzz mode. My first one had some issues with that and they eventually replaced mine with one that has barely audible clicking only present at high modulation mix, like 100% wet plus fuzz.
I'd exchange through your dealer if possible. Otherwise, I managed to get a DBA phone number and after leaving a few messages, shit got done. Hit me up via PM if you want that contact info.

I dug mine when I had it. And mine was later the one that got modded. And MaxMaps owned it before. Woo. But yeah, it's actually a really awesome sounding delay. I feel that everyone mostly mentions how crazy it can eat, but it's also an extremely tasteful pedal.

DBA is one of those companies that has some really interesting stuff, but every time I think of buying one, someone says something that makes me want nothing to do with them.
