Was trying to get one in Europe as shipping, customs, power converter would fast make it waaaay to expensive. The more I look at it, the more that VHT 12/20 looks like it'll cover all the bases. The Excelsior is damn sexy though!

Weren't the Bogner amps easy to get in Europe? in which case, do they make something equivalent? Guessing the VHT is part of a big global company that has good shipping to Europe though, too.

Searching for that new sound.
If you can read this, then I'm back?

i didn't enjoy the combo version that much, i think it sounds better feeding bigger cabs... so i didn't suggest it since i though we were talking combos

I still liked the combo better too, punchy and fat sounding.

All anyone really "needs" is a fuzzbox anyway. Everything else is just dicking around.
Had the vht 12/20 for a day. Too much low end to use it, and it wouldn't go away. Sound was clean as hell, but it had that strange and very loud hum. It was so painfull, that I brought it back the other day. I think the amp looks good on paper, but it's just another cheap amp.

It has a lot of bass, you find it nice and round clean, but dirt pedals just bring the bass way too much to the front. And then all the definition is gone. And you can't tighten it up with the controls on the amp.
