What's the Difference?
So whats the difference between the Maxon AD-9 and the Ibanez AD-9?

Maxon aparently made the old ibanez pedals, so the Maxon is known for sounding more like the original AD-9

The general concensus seems to be that after the Maxon/Ibanez split, Maxon continued to produce true to the original versions of their pedals,
while Ibanez opted for cheaper layouts/components that get you sorta there.

I would say Maxon wins in knob sensitivity, range (Especially with longer delay times) and construction quality.
You can also pretty clearly tell the difference by listening for "clock" noise which is far more pronounced in the Ibanez.
The above video is a bit deceiving, because it is using a vintage Ibanez pedal. Despite what Ibanez will tell you, the construction quality just isn't the same on the new models as it was 20+ years ago.
Yeah, you can dial them both in to get something similar, but I have always just felt something magical about the Maxon that the new-issue ibanez couldn't touch. Certainly, a vintage Ibanez is going to be pretty good, esp. when it was being made by maxon
