even smaller gigs i still get nervous before stuff jumps off. but a few notes in everything calms down.

i don't think i ever want to be completely mellow about gigging. seems like if you don't get any happy time shiver thrill out of it..... what's the point?

umm yeah, i'm nervous until i get on stage

anyway...

a) play something balls to the walls amazing and fucking dope... it boosts your confidence. I chose Converge
b) listen to something like that... Converge again
c) go through the songs and try enjoying it...

oh and it was totally amazing last night :) we filled the place (40 people, it was in a café) and the audience was so awesome

I keep a note on my phone of potential song titles and I just opened it and saw one that was just "Something Something Colorado."
It made me smile.

There was a crew of landscapers outside my house this morning. One of them had a leaf blower and another a hedge trimmer. When they ran them at the same time they droned at a major third. Happiness.

the other night i noticed that one of the freight trains going by in the middle of the night had a differently voiced whistle/horn than normal. typically they play a diminished or half-diminished chord, but this one made a perfect major triad :!!!:

also, the friendlier of my cousin's cats jumped up on my lap today and let me hug her. SO HAPPY. her name is Happy, too.

I don't even.
I don't even feel bad.

I keep thinking about this and cracking up:
1862: Jim Creighton, a very early baseball player, died when he swung a bat too hard and injured himself, possibly by rupturing his bladder.[50]

Holy shit, dude!

Late Saturday night, the bassist in my cover band, along with a mutual friend, was walking out of a gas station late at night with a bunch of food including a loaded chili dog. He declared, "This is the best birthday ever!" And some guy (50's according to my friend) said, "It's the Marines' birthday."

He responded, "Fuck that." Apparently, the guy took offense (sound like he was a douche to begin with. Who feels the need to criticize someone for enjoying their birthday?) and came after them. My friend decided to chuck the chili dog at him. As chili/nacho cheese shrapnel rained down upon the (presumably) vet, the hot dog flew through the mess and struck the guy square in the face. The two women he was with had to hold him back as my friends pointed, laughed and drunkenly went on their way.

These kinds of things happen to him ALL THE TIME.

I'm going to follow him around with a camera. No lie, you couldn't make up most of the shit this guy gets into.

I just came back from an awesome evening with a lady who likes to drone by bowing her e string and Who plays the muthafucken singing saw. A SIMGING SAW! Also we got drunk, played table tennis, discussed transgender ism and Sumerian politics, she showed me an awesome bar and all
Was merry and jolly an I am so gapp. happy
