lol. I DON'T UNDERSTAND GUITAR PLAYERS. there so much i can't stand about EHX, but the most salient stuff i guess is....

01) QC. i've owned like 5 of their pedz that i used live? all broke at some point.

02) fucking. UGLY. show some pride.

03) they have decent ideas that they implement in stoopid ways or bundle into other features that suck assholes.

04) almost everything they make sounds like dicks rubbing together when played on bass. and not in a good way.

just not a fan i guess.

Not being a fan is fair enough and i'll agree i'm not a huge fan of the newer art work compared to the old big box stuff but I can get over it.

QC has improved I think, the footswitches and toggles are what tend to go a lot but that's just an issue of mechanical parts not being very reliable.

If you can add another feature, why not! Sometimes shit just can't be done with how people want exactly too but they do take stuff on board, that's sorta where the Super ego evolved out of the Freeze I think, lots of people wanted an effects loop. I'd like an expression pedal for the gliss like the HOG had but i'll roll with this... cause I can't wait to get hold of some gliss. Dibz on trading you something if you flip it.

Ahh a bass player, I can see them being a lot more guitar/keys orientated but I know some bass players that love there shit, that could be what you've used or just your feelings on the tone.

Anywayz, as you say not a fan but I don't think they deserve hates!

I actually uh... kinda agree with this, i've only ever played one big muff, a black russian and recalled it being okay so I thought about getting a big box, checked loads of demos and just couldn't get on with the sound. Still kinda feel I need one around just cause i'm a guitarist though.

OpAmp muff is more cutting so I don't mind that so much... but I aint paying or a big box one.

lol. yah. by HATE THEEEEEEEM i really just meant i hate them for me. i have never had a pedal of theirs (except maybe the Freeze) that felt like it was used live before being put in production. adding more features? GOOD. adding them in a way where they're useless and make parts you DID like useless? asinine. the Cathedral mebbe? the 3 efx multi box.... crazy dumb design. i actually liked 3/4 of the stuff it did, but it's got ridiculous things asigned to toggles that should be on a footswitch and vice versa.

i probably hate them more than i would because they get CLOSE. then fuck it up horribly. and mostly sound like poo.

Muffs - i HATE THEM. with a blend? can be neat. but can't stand them without. gooooodBYE note definition!

the super ego is the kind of thing that just doesn't need to be put into a pedal... it complicates things too much. the freeze on the other hand is just a simple sustainer and i use mine a laawwttt. handy dandy little guy.

I really like the idea of the pogs but the stupid digital sound they have really kills any love I could have for them. And the modern artwork definitely hasn't been very good as a general rule.

The ring thing on the other hand sounds digital completely on the pitch-shifter settings, but has fantastic flexibility for a pitch-shifter. And the ring mod is so musical, flexible and thick. It's like a fantastic mocha, soothing but with a slight energy boost.

If I was using a bigger board I'd definitely get the super ego.
