I've heard that, but I've had no problems whatsoever with a one spot with a RRR in the daisy chain. sounds great and not fussy

I had noise issues with my RRR when attached to a VL PP2+, if i unplugged my timeline and el cap it went away otherwise it was pretty much useless it was so noist. It was a tough decision between delays and verbs especially since the RRR sounded sooo good, but then i upgraded to the Space and now i have the best of both worlds and zero noise. Apparently the RRR is picky about working with other digital pedals.

yeah with noise in general when running a whole bunch of pedals, it's a good rule to have digital pedals isolated while analog stuff can all be chained. of course it's situational though so some folks will have noise where others won't... YMMV

Exactly, I've seen timeline's and RRR's on the same board numerous times with no issues, it just happened to be my setup. :(

That, my friend, is a custom Mail Order Muff from Ryan (Fuzzrocious). Fitting paint job.

Hey all. It's been awhile. I've got a few more important pieces coming, but things have changed on my board and I wanted to share.

As is our custom, I will start with the lights out.

Image

And with the lights on:

Image

The particular new stuff that I had a ton of fun with tonight: The McSpunckle Samurai Switch and a few things in its feedback loop.

Image

The artwork on the Samurai Switch is awesome, and I'm just  with it. It lets me use something that needed a true bypass looper at the very least -- my old Dano slapback-y echo-y reverb -- and I can use my cheap Joyo Ultimate Drive to give the signal a little more gain after the reverb. I leave the Dano reverb on all the time with the reverb turned all the way up, and I can turn the Joyo OCD clone on and off as necessary. Plus, the momentary feedback loop makes some really nice noise blasts -- which I can dial in to sort of be an EHX Freeze style repeat if I want. Play a note, stomp on the feedback switch, and I can stop playing and maintain the note for as long as necessary.

The Phase switch on the Samurai Switch is neat, too -- it fixes the problem of the loop being out of phase with itself. But I found one neat little trick with this: if I set it so that the phase matches, the actual signal going through during feedback gets cancelled out. But the part that's added each time around the feedback loop (I'm guessing it's the clock signal + a tiny bit of gain that wasn't there before the previous time around) comes through, and it sounds like crickets. This discovery was awesome and I just sat there dumbfounded and listened to it for like 5 minutes.

If I crank the feedback knob even more, the momentary feedback stomp switch turns into blasts of noise that rise up like a noise freakout -- which is also going to be very useful.

All in all, really happy and excited for all the possibilities for the Samurai Switch. I need to try some more pedals in the feedback loop, but so far the Dano reverb -> Joyo Ultimate Drive is a neat little sound for my overall sound.
