Due to my pedalboard being a huge clusterf**k of wires and hard-to-reach stomp switches, I'm planning on utilising a bypass looper system. When thinking about this further I'm beginning to consider having the loop switcher on the floor and all my pedals on a stand so I can fiddle with them while stood playing (it's a tough life being a knob-tweaker with a bad back and terrible eyesight...). If i do this though, it's a lot of cabling. If I've got 10 pedals I'd need 20 x 4' mono cables which is a lot of plugs when setting it up. My question is could I use a stereo cable for audio send/return to each pedal? The cable would be shielded, but the two internal wires carrying the send/ return signals would not be shielded from one another. Would this cause an nightmare amount of noise? I'd be building a custom looper with stereo jacks and all my pedals are DIY anyway, so I'd just re-wire them to stereo jack connections. I realise it's a long winded and slightly silly idea, but I'm not necessarily looking for an easier route, just wondering if the stereo cabling is a fundamentally unsound principle. Hope this makes sense. Any input much appreciated
