I too often wonder about that. It'd be cool to have one of the amps they do for those prices when they're almost all dead expensive to buy the actual amp, and building stuff is fun.

I'd build pedals before I'd build an amp. AC power and high voltage tubes and fat ass capacitors scare me. At least building pedals if I get zapped not much happens and you can practise soldering and getting used to dealing with electricity safely.
