DADGAD

....and it's many variations.

like:
DADF#AD
DADF#AC#

so on and so forth.

i like this one:
FADGBE

and this one:
FACGCE

Honestly, pick a sweet chord inversion, grab a capo, and tune to it. it's fun as shit. :thumb:
I've got a fuzzbox and i'm not afraid to use it

Actually you just make me think of another one that just sounds so fuckin ugly, it makes me want to puke and rock at the same time. I always loved this one horribly dissonant chord in "Root" by the Deftones, he hits it 4 times right before the first verse kicks in. So I tuned my guitar to that one, and it sounded fucking gross.

E-Bb-Eb-G-B-E

EDIT: Here it is, from 0:21 to 0:30, and then again from 2:40 to 2:50, if anyone happens to be interested in what I'm talking about.

On bass, I've been known to go CGCG, DADA, and more often, CGDA. But I've found I like standard better. I use a capo a lot, though...

For guitar, I've tried open tunings-- especially a C# Minor open tuning. But, again... always went back to standard.

Open unings are ace, because they make you think about music rather than just notes.

That said, I'm still getting my head around the standard Spanish tuning, and it's nice to sort of know where things are or should be...
ILF pedals: DE Eye of God, Mellowtone Wolf Computer, Mellowtone Singing Tree LE, Fuzzhugger Arc Flash Oscillator, DSc Miniberator, Mysterious J boost/cut/tremolo pedal

My classical guitar is tuned to open G, makes for some rocking blues.
You just need a passive bass, a tube amp, and a metric ton of marijuana and Sabbath worship.

Only one I do when writing actual songs is C standard. It makes for bad ass grimey-ness.

I've done DMST's "The Landlord is Dead" with regular tuning. I just don't understand how they do that high part halfway through the song.
Do you like listening to homemade music? Me too. Why don't you try one of mine?

Current ILF Love: OHNOHO CHK CHK BOOM, Mellowtone Melx Fuzz 2, EQD Dream Crusher, Devi Ever ID, Dr. Scientist Proto-Miniberator - new vids eventually

I think I know what you're talking about. the tune their guitars like that, as far as I know, (I just got it from a tab site), and play harmonics on the twelfth and fifth frets.

e |--------------------------------------------
B |----------5--------------------------------
G#|----------5---------------------------------
D#|-12------------5---------------------------
A |-12------------5---------------------------
E |--------------------------------------------

HARMONICS! I love that song.
