A million times over: YES.

Back in college, I got to work a Bob Mould show - he was one of the nicest guys ever to us lowly crew people. After his soundcheck, I was sent to his dressing room to see what he wanted for dinner... some bands would put us through the ringer with absolutely ridiculous riders ("and we need three different kinds of mayonnaise, four mustards, and at least five different kinds of mineral water..."). When I got there and asked what he wanted, Bob looked completely surprised and said "Oh, I'm o.k. - I walked into town earlier and picked up a sub. Thanks, though."
