Searching for a record label - suggestions?

Post by goroth »

Ok fuzzduders, one of my bands Digression Assassins is looking for a label for our upcoming release. We play... I dunno. Rock. Noisy.ish. Dillinger via AC/DC via Soundgarden (with less mad skillz of course). I dunno. We're based in Sweden, not that that really matters. I'd love to hear any other suggestions as there are heaps of good labels out there (and heaps of crap ones, we want to avoid them).

Older stuff is here if you want something more than vague descriptors about our sound haha.

Our regression from noisy hardcore to ZZ top coverband is fairly apparent if you can be bothered listening to our older stuff! The newer stuff is even rockier. I dunno if it's a good a thing, but it's something :)

Our list so far (mostly metal labels, but we're really looking for anyone with a relatively open mind)
NSFW: show
Aftermath Music Norway
Candlelight Records
Century Media
Eulogy Recordings
Earache
Epitaph
Equalvision
Inoxia
Kishidashin
Lifeforce records
Metal Blade
Mystic Production
Peaceville
Prosthetic Records
Relapse
Season of Mist
Spinefarm
The End

I dig the album art so much. Sweet music too. Unfortunately I don't have much advice to give on labels.

This? Maybe more in line with the older releases of your band though.
Really dig that older stuff by the way (new stuff sounds cool too, but not really my thing)!

Thanks Obulus - I'll hit em up. I dunno, we still have one toe left in the spazzy hardcore world, so we like to think that we'd be ok on those sorts of labels. Jfrey, the artwork on Alpha was done by a German dude, Szandor Kubassa. He's pretty rad. That's the nice thing about doing vinyl, you can still see the artwork. New stuff is going to be a 10" and the artwork should be great. Still in the concept phase but kinda cheesy fantasy gone wrong. Sounds crap, but that's the short version!
