Re: The Netflix of the Pedal World!
Meh. I don't see the appeal with these pricing schemes. You can buy used pedals, keep them however long you want, and flip them for less than the cost of a week's rental. Rent-to-own just feels like Rent-A-Center with pedals; you make all the payments and it's not a horrendous idea I guess if you were short on cash and couldn't buy new from Prymaxe at 10% less, but miss a payment and you're screwed. 8% of the pedal's initial value daily interest ain't no joke. Plus Prymaxe has 60 days no-questions-asked free returns, so if you really weren't sure about a new pedal you could just buy from them.

This does seem like a good idea, although I think a few people here could do the exact same thing (with the exception of rent to own)
I would rent pedals

Re: The Netflix of the Pedal World!
I can see why someone would want to rent some of the more expensive pedals (like a Timeline for instance). If you don't have $500 to spend, $30 can seem like a good deal for a week.

I predict that this wont ultimately be a viable business venture. With return policies and such I don't get the demand for this. If they had rare, unobtainable things to try maybe but standard current production stuff i doubt.
Excellent Transactions: monkeydancer, dorfmeister, Rygot, bronzetalon, PumpkinPieces, Wes Mantooth, Deltaphoenix, Blooghost, Fuzz_Pi, Neanderthal Head, lordgalvar

Re: The Netflix of the Pedal World!
but if it supplemented another biz
to get peeps in the door, like a gimmick
it looks to me like a player/pedal collector
had a bright idea
or maybe a couple of em joined forces
they definately dont have everything
if they had guitars, amps, etc itd be like rentarig
might get someone out of a jam
or red pedal box at the supermarket

I did see stuff like a timeline, skreddy echo, some other rare stuff which makes sense. Maybe some other things that are hard to find used like that disaster transport that I mentioned. But I saw digitech listed? That one doesn't add up really.

Re: The Netflix of the Pedal World!
i started checking these gus out a few weeks ago and they have already expanded they're selection. between their rent-to-own and zzounds pay-as-you-play, it puts a lot of pretty rad stuff well with in reach.
but what are guitar pedals...really..?

Well it's really just the new Whammy pedals. Not like that trying to rent out Bad Monkeys or anything like that.

Definitely interested in the "rent-to-own" option as a viable source of future NPDs for those of us with GAS fund deficiencies. Especially on the used stuff.
