lets see:
Bassman
Marshal (tweed Bassman really)
Thunderbolt
Bassmate
Bassmaster
V4/VT22 actually a V4-B with reverb
VT-40 = B25
not an entirely new idea.

My Acoustic Model 220 sounds excellent for high gain guitar tone through my Emperor 4x12(vintage 30's) so long as you run everything around 9-10 and have a guitar with humbuckers. Anything else is either really shrill or wonky sounding.

Worth mentioning, The Oh Sees' bassist seems to be playing a Jazzmaster through a new Acoustic half stack and if I closed my eyes I'd know no difference. I'm not sure if anything else is going on with pedals or something.

It's impossible finding a SS guitar combo that is simple, has clean headroom, and not complete garbage. There's a lot more options in bass amplification, though. 100 watt combos are pretty cheap, too, and I'd imagine would be plenty loud enough for guitar.

WHAT SAY YOU?

I say 99% of the time a bass combo amp is gonna be absolute crap. Not because it's solid state, just by virtue of being a shitty amp.

I think he's either converted it to baritone scale and runs it with Bass VI tuning, or its just a Bass VI. Or he just uses a gnarly octave pedal. But yeah, total secks on that tone
