V1 or V2... How to tell on a Whetstone?

Post by modernage »

Couldn't find any info on the internuts one how to figure out what version your Whetstone is. All I could find were the changes that were made to the circuit. Any of you guys know how to tell? My Whetstone is #203, built 08/09. I'm sure someone here has asked this before.

Pretty sure that is before they made the v2 changes. I'm pretty sure mine is in the 200s and I bought it before the changes.

What does the mod do, exactly? I emailed Kyle a long time ago about updating mine, but never got around to actually sending it to him

Mod kills the oscillation in ring mod mode, it's pretty easy to do yourself if you're at all comfortable with a soldering iron...all you need to do is add a cap across two resistors.
If you email Kyle directly, I bet he'll send you the deets plus the handy picture/diagram he sent me when I asked...
Special low-frequency version.
