Fender Runaway- FEEDBACK PEDAL

Post by madmax1012 »

seems like an interesting direction for them, and I dig the concept. not sure how I feel about the demo, but it's definitely interesting.

Pretty cool. I wouldn't mind playing around with one if the price is right. Which I don't think it will be for what it is.

That first guy looks so angry.
The idea is cool, but from my experience, fender pedals are some of the worst I've tried.
Seems kind of cool though. It's so much cooler to actually do that without a pedal though.
Might be useful for some stuff though?

I don't know. I'm skeptical.

I'm definitely skeptical but if it's reasonably priced, it could be fun? maybe?

It does sound cool when they start using it for creepy ebow type sounds instead of lame pretend feedback.

hmmmm

the idea is kindof cool and at the same time I feel like feedback should be earned
some of those sounds you can definitely get by just stacking dirt but probably without that type of control

I agree that the ebow sounds are better than the fake feedback

Also: This pedal is probably way better for your hearing than other ways of generating feedback- I remember laying on the floor with a single pickup kay in front of my amp and you could get the guitar to feedback on just one string at a time depending on how you rolled around - and now I don't know math

I agree about 'earning' feedback though. Using a pedal wouldn't be the same as turning up loud and finding just the right spots.

yeps- Fender could have done the same thing by doing a full hollowbody with jazzmaster pickups and a bigsby.......don't they own gretsch??

Yes, earned feedback is better, but not everyone can manage that at home or even playing out. And it sounds like the pedal doesn't necessarily add perceived dirt to get there, which is good for some players. I imagine P&W players will be all over this. We might still be a bit interested here, though, because . . .

The pseudo e-bow stuff is indeed interesting. Maybe more interesting than its intended use. I really want to see that range of the pedal explored to see if it goes to somewhere new. I could see getting one for those games at the right price.

mmmmm, yeah, well - I used to have a Boss noise gate as a panic button to kill the whole signal chain just to not feedback all the time

also, this:

All use I can come up for this is when recording demos at home direct, without a cab. So that's definitely a positive marketing point. I guess. But... even then, I'd be probably missing the interacting with tone and vol knobs of my bass. So, um... :idk: I guess not.

I think this is pretty cool. Though I bet for the price it might be better to jump on the freeze for a similar effect.

But it would be cool to have controlled feedback at bedroom volumes.

The real thing is better, but not having a mic'd cab and recording direct in... I've had to come up with some interesting ways to create feedback. This pedal would make it much easier. Although, I think I'd rather plug one of the outputs on my mixer back into my amp while still recording DI.

i read all your posts first
then watched the movie
was not interested at all at first beacause
im in constant battle with my rig over feedback(and i like it)
and things fender turn me off for some reason
the awesome thing about feedback is it can get out of control real quick
the noise this makes is a little tame
but if it was called somethin else
and was a bonus feature on another pedal(like a wah)
it would be alright
the demo is abit clean though
id like to hear one of you knuckleheads give it the buisiness
at least someone somewhere in corporation world is trying
