I may be stuck in PS2 land, but Metal Gear Solid 2 + 3 and Shadow of the Colossus are some of my favorite games ever. So great.

GOT THE VITA. it's so sick. Speaking of metal gear, there's a vita hd remaster of Sons of Liberty+Snake Eater. Probably gonna have to jump on that.

Bigtime, SOTC is amazingly cool! So is the Metal Gear Solid series, legendary games!

Been watching some Dishono(u)red videos, pretty cool game, really interesting style.

Congrats on the Vita, Max, that's cool!

Both of these have my interest, but I do my best to pretend like they don't exist so I don't add to my ever growing backlog.

My brother in law never played any MGS games and recently played MGS2. We got into a huuuuuuge Always Sunny style yelling conversation about why he thinks it's terrible and makes no sense while I think that the series represents a huge milestone for gaming. What we eventually decided is that MGS and Final Fantasy represented my transition into gaming (beyond fighting games) so I can understand/appreciate/tolerate the extremely Japanese nature of these games. And this may be one of the first Japanese games he has ever played. That and he could never really grasp how groundbreaking MGS has been to action/sneak games because sooooo many games have ripped of bits here and there for the past decade.

Wow...weird rant

Still playing Uncharted 3. Still badass. The controls are less frustrating now that I've had a few hours to get used to them. They are just overly sensitive, I think.

MGS2 was easily the worst of the series...they did a lot of weird things with that one.
MGS3 was the high point for me, hands down the best...I love the survivorman aspects of it

There was a great deal on the HD ICO/SoTC PS3 version the other day, not sure if it's still running but you guys should check it out.
SoTC was such a beautifully memorable game...there was no dialogue or much of a story but it just really struck a chord.
Still can't wait for The Last Guardian (made by the same folks)!

Yeah. MGS 2 is not exactly a great place to start. I blame it entirely for the stupid aspects of the MGS4 story. Either way it was a big task trying to talk him into playing MGS3. I finally got him with the fact that you play as Big Boss.

I will look for that ICO/SOTC deal.

It was $16 shipped...not a HUGE deal but still an amazingly cheap price for 2 great games done up for the ps3.

Does the PS3 version of SotC run smoother?
I liked that game but the choppiness always bugged me. You can't have low framerate in a game where almost all you do is fight bosses, c'mon!

I like how in Dishono(u)red you can beat all the missions without killing anybody, you can just knock them out, drag them around, capture them and get them in trouble. That's kinda cool, even Gandhi could enjoy it.

It's pretty fun! I went with the kill all guards, take the main baddies alive approach. Jumping off of 6 story buildings and landing on someone sword first is too much fun not to do.

Haha yeah I like that style of play too... those jump attacks are really cool.

I like how Bethesda games sound... you know all the little sounds when you pick up different items, the clinks and rustles and food sounds, the sound of the interface thingy opening and closing... it's like that for Fallout, Skyrim, Dishonored.. they have good game sounds.
