I can't got to a friend's birthday party tonight, because I have school work I have to get done after work. I'm not too bummed, because I was only going because I felt obligated, but still, I hate doing school work.

I went to the Post Office to ship out a pedal today.

The box weighed 1lb and the lady at the counter tells me that International Express with tracking will cost $39.50.
Even though it's more than I expected, I say "OK" and she starts attaching all the forms to the box.
Once all the forms are attached she tells me my total is $44.45. I ask why it's $5 more than she originally quoted.
She then tells me that attaching all the customs forms changed the weight from 1lb to 1lb .3oz and that the price
increases $5 for anything over 1lb.

Did you pay that shit? Cuz bitch raped you. You can send anything under 3 pounds via first class for like $15 or less.

So I decided to get a second major in Marketing since I have 40 credits to bullshit with until I can graduate. This fucking textbook is absurd and borderline unethical. I was wondering why they put out a new edition of it every 8 months, and my working hypothesis is that they sell out product plugs for every edition-- "Zero-percent financing, increased cash back, and free maintenance, as well as other incentives, enabled some customers to lease new Rav 4s for $169 a month, whereas before they would have paid $279 a month." You get at least one of those every couple of paragraphs. Sleazy as shit if you ask me.

Yeah, It would have been $13 if I sent it First Class but I needed tracking on it. :(

Well for future reference, the custom's form works as tracking. It's not insured or anything, but you can tell where it is and if it was delivered.

That's the (only) good thing with the austrian postal service- shipping without tracking is more expensive than shipping with tracking and insurance. For a normal sized package I pay 16€. And 18€ for bigger ones. Including tracking and insurance. If I want it to be express shipped I need to pay 4€ more. Uninsured I'd pay a 25€ flatrate, but since I never exceed the weight/size of the 18€ package, it doesn't pay off.

That's what I'd normally do but this one needed to get there fast and have legit tracking. The Customs # works pretty good depending on the country you are shipping to though. The buyer covered 2/3 of it so it's not too terrible.

I'm more annoyed that the .3oz added by sticking the all of the forms to the box cost me an extra $5.
It's like I'm paying extra to ship the forms when they aren't my forms in the first place.

For what its worth, generally speaking the people who're paid to write those things are encouraged to create examples using real world products.

Maybe that homie just loves the Rav4?

anyway, USPS tracking is useless and sucks and I hate holidays when I have shit in the mail.
