It seems to work well with chords. I don't really know what's good though. The Tone Reaper seems like a solid choice
Sounds familiar..... definately can cop shoegazey tones, more interesting than most muffs, imho. Just add reverb and stir... Anybody try out a blunderbuss, gazey?

How are you liking it? Working out alright for you I hope?
I really liked the sound of that pedal. I'm gonna try doing an MKI now

just got mine in the mail today, and i would have to agree.
Hey wehuntkings, you really really really need to try the Huger. You would absolutely love it! I have made this offer to you before but if you would want to do a temp trade and try it out i would be totally down.

oh yeah! i would love to, i just don't need anymore gas right now...
is there something you really wanna try out that i have?
but to be on topic, i do think that playing style is the most important thing for shoegaze. which means open tunings forever.
i'll think about it! I tuned my guitar all strings to C and the highest was C# and i came up with some really unique, wildly fuzzzzzed out toanz. I played around with whacky picking techniques and it kind of changed the way I play guitar when I want to gaze the day away!

Yeah my Bukowski bender is real nice. The third knob, it is some kind of bias control, it keeps things interesting. I can get traditional tones and when I tweak it a little it can get more interesting....Shame I have to use a battery, but from what others have told me this is a normal condition of the MKII circuit...Either way I am happy with the little guy...thank you kindly!

So the guitarist in the shoegaze band I'm in used the algal bloom a lot today, and it sounded perfect for everything we were doing. Whether it was a hazy crunch or a piercing howl for solos, it just made sense for all of the weird open tuning jangly stuff and the scrambled power chord riffs.

The Algal Bloom is such a great pedal. Everyone I've let play mine is blown away by how versatile it is, and how awesome it is at so many different settings.
