That is mkIII. And i think too that it Sounds great. MKI is imho great for gazing. MkII is too smooth and lacking edge - somehow more Kind of distortion.

Glad I'm not the only person still sporting some Wolf Computer love. But yeah, I use my wolf computer for everything because it is so reliant on playing styles, if you play shoegaze guitar into it you're going to get shoegaze out of it.
I'm actually trying to train my current drummer to keep drumming when I start playing like that. Because when I combine the wolf computer with some delay and the fuck the whole thing turns into a beautiful swash; my drummer has no idea what to do, so, he stops playing.
any fuzz, any delay, any reverb, and a touch of modulation always get me into gaze territory. Although, I probably wouldn't use too gated a fuzz for dem lawng-"RRRRRRREEEEE-OO-RRRREEEEE/REEE-ORRR-REEEEEE" wang-barred, gazechords
probably a smoother kind of fuzz, (not a splatter/scrambled or gated), like a muff or rat. i think it's because it can't be too harsh because you'll lose your sound through all the delay and verb. i've noticed alot of gaze guys use a fulltone ocd, which is a heavy overdrive voiced like a marshall or fender amp. but hey, create your own sound!
This question seems to come up an awful lot on gear forums, but here goes. Any overdrive, distortion, and/or fuzz will do. Whether you're into benders, muffs, screamers, rats, or just the natural saturation of your amp, any and all will work for shoegaze.

So much this! It depends more on playing style than ANYTHING else.
Well, I was mostly asking what everyone preferred. I know what I prefer. And, the title was facetious. Like the ol' best "bass for metal" thing. The only question I asked was gazing with a tonebender. Which, is a bad thing to ask, because now I just want a bender even more.
