Gristleizer Help!

Post by Ilikewater »

Hey guys! Long time no post, sorry about that.

So I have a great gristleizer build by Candletears, and it has been serving me well. However, I went to change its position in the chain today and the LFO locked out glowing red and is now unresponsive to the dial. Wondering what could have happened, and if my meager abilities have any chance of fixing it without having to send it back to AU?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have no idea what might've happened, but it's lame that your LFO went on strike. Hope it's an easy fix.

Which version of the Gristleizer? Is it built from a madbean board? MusicPCB? EAR?

not quite sure, I've messaged candletears, but our timezones are way off. Yeah, the lfo went on strike, and the pedal just doesn't play nice now. Not sure what happened. thought it might have to do with the biasing, but doesn't seem to be the case. super bummer.

I have a Gristleizer that MIke at Rhythm & Detonation built for me from (I think) a musicPCB board. It's the only Gristleizer I've ever played. So, I've got nothing to compare it to. It's a pretty strange circuit.

Possibly your troubles will turn out to be just a loose solder joint or something. Sounds like that may be the case, because things were fine up until you physically moved the pedal, right? I think someone here who's more technically minded than we are will be able to diagnose the problem. At least I hope so.

I'm really hoping that is the case. Thanks for the response at least. I was feeling pretty lonely.
