not sure what is wrong with it, no sound
I think one of the battery wires are hooked to the wrong thing
it has never worked since I have owned it so I have no idea if it ever did
somebody tell me how to fix my muff fuzz

Ooo... that's a bit of a mess.
Yeah the black lead looks a tad frayed there, might be shorting to something it shouldn't.
Can't be sure but looks like those are both mono jacks so it doesn't have jack switching, that's a DPDT it probably takes the battery out of circuit when you switch it.
Could be anything though, bad switch, reverse polarity damage, bad solder joint.
Need to test the switch connections and get voltages on the transistors.

I can't see in the photo clearly but it should be wired like this
http://www.geofex.com/Article_Folders/w ... apper2.gif
Then the other side of the swich needs to be connecting the battery when the switch is in the Output Jack/ Circuit Output position.

Re: somebody tell me how to fix my muff fuzz
International postage aint that bad but i'm sure someone more local to you could take a look instead.
Shouldn't be too tricky to trace through to make sure it's all right, basically half a big muff, or two LPB-1s with clipping diodes, the schematic for this specifically is available online. Just need to pop it all out the box.
If it all checks out regards wiring, then checking the voltages and continuity on the switch will be the next port of call, i'm betting on the switch being busted, those things go all the time on old EHX stuff.

Re: somebody tell me how to fix my muff fuzz
I have a Muff Fuzz circuit sitting in a little pile of circuits in my work area.
It's the op amp version. You can have it if you want it.
I seem to remember it being a pretty OK overdrive but I haven't tried it since I made it which was a couple months ago. The transistor version probably sounds a little cooler

Also, EHX use solid core wires which break easily so look around to see if one of them broke. I've had it happen in two EHX pedals so I think it must be pretty common

They did but by the time they got to PCBs they may have stopped as that looks like it might be stranded from the photos.
People complain the opamp muff is fizzy regards decay and too harsh from the reviews I saw, who knows though could be cool.
