Seeing them Oct 26th, can't wait! They're probably my most significant musical discovery of the last 5 years

I feel pretty much the same way. Sometimes I feel bad about it but Swans were only barely on my radar for the longest time and it wasn't until the 2010 record that I finally really got into them.

Haha awesome!
I seriously had an outer body experience during their set. I watched videos of the current tour the day after the show and realized how different I felt at the show. Seriously felt hypnotized.

When I saw them in Seattle, I had flown in that morning on a 6AM flight, on like 3 hours sleep, plus crappy sleep the night before, and only getting even crappier plane-sleep on the way there. By the time they played that night, it was seriously like a light switch; suddenly I also felt hypnotized. Stoked to see them again tomorrow in Denver.

Saw them on friday. The hearing in my right ear has been fucked up something fierce since. Don't know yet if it's permanent. The volume was just ridiculous, suffocating.

And that was WITH earplugs.

My Father Will Guide Me up a Rope to the Sky is their record from 2010 after reforming and is quite accessible with a lot of influence carried over from Angels of Light.

The Great Annihilator is probably the next easiest to get into and leads into their older stuff. But really fuck it, they're all great and a decent amount is available on Spotify if you do that. Cop is probably my favorite of the earlier Swans records.

Filth
Cop/Young God/Greed/Holy Money 2XCD
Various Failures 2XCD
Soundtracks for the Blind 2XCD
The Seer 2XCD

Those are my favorite... but maybe not the easiest for a start.

I've been introduce to SWANS with Soundtracks for the Blind.
