My deluxe memory man tap tempo has all but one of the things I need for my perfect delay: fantastically flexible modulation, check. Tap tempo that also serves as an oscillation switch, check. Effects loop, check. Crazy high quality delay signal that's purer and cleaner than any I've ever heard that can still give me soupy, gloomy ambience, check. I just wish I could have trails with it.

One cool feature that's sure to come in handy someday, is that I can use an external foot switch; leading to me potentially wiring up multiple time-based pedals to a single foot switch. That said, I could probably do without the tap tempo

Still want to try a tape echo someday. Along with a Leslie rotating speaker. If I'm going to have a setup that's gears and pulleys, I want as many fucking gears and pulleys as I can get :animal:

I want eq, the ability to pull off dubby oscillations with the stomp of a switch, PRESETS, selectable warble, selectable fuzzles, dual delay, laser sounds from turning the time knob that can also be controlled with an external device, flashy lights, effects loop, glitchy degradations of the repeats (footswitch selectable), and add decent looper and maybe a few extra outputs for shits and gigs.

I don't really use my delay as a delay pedal at all. I use a boss dd6 pretty much just for the hold and warp functions. Weird stutters and oscillations and all that stuff.

"Functionally negligible" I thought this was "I Love Fuzz and other crazy cool timbres" not "I Love Practicality" :p ... ;)

Just kidding, but I will disagree. I've owned two delays: A DE7 and a Memory Boy. They're both fairly simple pedals, but sound drastically different. The DE7 is good for spacey faux-tape echo delays and clean spanky slap-back (also has an unusably long delay time at higher settings) while the Memory Boy has a lot more "colour" to it and goes from verby regurgitation to insane square-wave trem situations that I was once told are "illegal in 15 states."

That said, I still own the DE7. It's just more practical for my uses. :idk: But I'd love to invest in either a decent tap-tempo delay or a Dispatch Master in the near future.

Not too much headroom so it can dirty up when I hit it with a loud signal, analog-y decaying repeat goodness, the ability to sit on that edge of oscillation where things are just about controllable, and the oscillation. Modulation is a nice bonus, the Disaster Transport Jr is covering everything except modulation for me nicely atm, might switch it up to a daddy DT for that at some point.

no idea. I think I'm gonna get DMB lunar echo and hope that solves all my delay needs.

Why did you sell it?

I still have the Superdelay.

I've never thought about you like this, but I totally imagined you adding a very Pierre Escargot-like laugh to that comment.

Huh, huhhuhhuh, huh, huh!

EDIT: And yes I know Quebec and Paris are not the same.

On topic, am I the only one who is afraid of delays with too many options? Then again, I tend to feel that way about most pedals. Four knobs is almost too many sometimes.

I own the pappa DT and the modulation adds such a nice or weird touch to the delayed signal depending on how you dial it in. I'm very satisfied with it but don't it use often in the bands I am playing with at the moment.
