Yes, the signal is perfectly clear when bypassed. One of the lugs on the switch overheated and ended up tilting a few degrees from vertical. Someone in another forum thought I might have fried it.

Possible?

yes. first check/re-solder the in/out from the pcb to the switch... then use a multimet or the signal checker and check lug 1-2 then 2-3... put the knob halfway... :thumb:

pretty much just test the connectivity of everything. that's what i always do, and i always get the results i need.
well i guess, but i just don't know.

You can wire the in of the circuit directly to the tip of the input jack and the output of the circuit directly to the tip of the output jack. This will bypass the on/off switch and tell you if the circuit is working or not.
