Re: Where you do guys buy enclosures?
I've ordered a few finished enclosures from PPP that were awesome.
I get almost everything from Smallbear and have had great customer service from them. They do have finished enclosures but nothing too fancy color-wise and I do not believe they drill, but the 1590s I got from them were good.

Special low-frequency version.

Pedal Parts Plus is doing some killer new multi-color finishes. They do all of our enclosures. They just added a Facebook page this week, plus they're having their site redesigned as we speak.

Glad to hear PPP is getting a site redesign. I love their products, but their site was not the most user friendly

Yep, it should be a major improvement.

Re: Where you do guys buy enclosures?
I have ordered enclosures from Small Bear, Pedal Parts Plus, and Mammoth. I can't say a bad thing about SB or PPP... even their blem enclosures are pretty nice. I was a little disappointed in the quality of the paint job on my last Mammoth order. They didn't respond to my e-mail about it either.

I love the smell of solder in the morning.

Re: Where you do guys buy enclosures?
Beware of Mammoth. I've had so many problems with them. I've completely given up on them.
I ordered bare, drilled enclosures from them which had the stomp hole drilled just low enough that a battery wouldn't fit. Plus, several of the boxes were scratched and gouged up from careless packing.
When I emailed them about it I was just told that they were drilled like that to accommodate jack holes or what have you. Mind you, these were 1590BB's with top mounted jacks! Didn't offer to replace them
That same order was screwed up in many other ways... Items missing took over a week to replace, incorrect items were replaced with more of the same incorrect item...
After almost a month of promises made and emails not returned I just gave up and asked for a refund.
I'm sure Mammoth are nice guys and all, but I can't have my customers waiting on a pedal because they can't get it right.
Use Tayda for unpainted enclosures. They're cheap and I've never had an order with so much as a resistor unaccounted for.
I've had good experiences with PPP for drilled and painted stuff.

Im through with mammoth. Last order I placed was for about $70 worth of parts on one of their free shipping sales. Never got anything. He took over a week to get back to me in email and basically said too bad, so sad. No tracking, no insurance no recourse....so I was out the dough, had no parts and finally decided to take my biz to small bear, tayada and pedal parts plus.

I just got a package from Mammoth on Monday, with the free shipping sale, including two enclosures. It was $100 worth of parts and everything arrived just fine. Both enclosures were exactly as I ordered them, all the hardware I ordered was also there. Sucks that there seems to be a lot of hiccups happening in their process, but there still is hope out there.

I would file a claim of mail fraud with your local post master general. even if you don't succeed in getting reimbursed, mammoth will think twice about not making things right. there is a standard form to fill out, free to file a claim.

Do you have the email? I'm really curious because I order a lot from them. They do seem to send the wrong stuff sometimes... but they've always sent out the right stuff really quick.
I just got a powdercoated enclosure from them, actually... and it's really pretty fantastic. Better than the last one I got. It really seems basically flawless.

Nope, did not file a claim or pursue it further. Both would take time, and I'm short enough on time for my various interests, its not worth it to me. There are other, better, suppliers fortunately. Small bear and Mouser have, basically, everything. And for more mainstream needs, Tayada kicks ass.

I have never heard of Mammoth sending a package out with no tracking.. I have never asked for one but I always get one... weird.

Re: Where you do guys buy enclosures?
about a month ago i ordered a buch of stuff from mammoth, including a powder blue enclosure, but a couple days after placing the order i got an email informing me that the enclosure was currently out of stock and it would take 3-4 days to return to stock, then they would ship it to me right away. no biggie. i got all my parts minus the enclosure and everything was correct. but it's now a month later and i still haven't gotten the enclosure or any notice about it shipping or anything. it's not really a big deal to me, i ordered some more yesterday and just emailed the guy who told me about it being out of stock in the first place, but i do wish i got it sooner. i also noticed that the power blue enclosure has been in stock for a couple weeks now.
i could believe it that mammoth kinda sucks sometimes, but their site alone seriously makes me want to use them over any other supplier. it's just so user friendly. if ppp gets a redesign anything like mammoth, i will use them for sure.
