refinish resoglass guitar?

there's a killer looking valco up on my local craigslist but it's red... which is a little too jack white for me

so how would I go about this? dye it?

It's probably not worth the trouble of trying to refinish it. You can throw a coat of paint on it, but don't expect it to look too good.

nah I'm not looking for a professional finish or anything
I've found some spray on vinyl dye stuff that car guys use, supposedly it goes in and binds to the plastic

they've got dark green too so this could look pretty bitchin

If your only objective is to cover up the red, should work out fine. If you don't expect much in terms of cosmetics, shouldn't be too bad.

May look better if there's something you can use to prime it.

i hope this isnt an original jb hutto. They are worth real money now. You should sell it and buy a reso-kit.

If it's an original, don't refinish it. Those things sell for mad money if they're the right year. If it's an Eastwood, then they probably aren't real resoglass guitars (which had a plastic body). If it's plastic, and you're REALLY determined, you should be able to refinish one of those without fucking up the tone with some spray paint and a spray on lacquer coat after sanding it lightly, although it would kill me to know that anyone wold do that to an original resoglass.
