You're studying to be an accountant right? I've had the displeasure of working for both types. There really isn't much of a difference, at all. So you're free to buy that Bogner.
I've had the luxury of playing basically everything a normal guitarist could ever dream of courtesy of hanging around some amazing vintage shops in the day and not being a retard.
I played a documented Hendrix strat, enough tweed Fenders and Supros to kill children with the SPL, and the like, my first Space Echo came out of the shop where it was being used as a literal doorstop because nobody wanted it. They were angry with me for a year because they had to find something else to prop the door open with when it got hot during the summer.
Most of this was before I could really play all that well on top of it, I learned what I liked and what I didn't, and in the end what was just a piece of wood and what wasn't.
My regret is not buying the $600 Bass VI. Not the stupid rare or famous stuff.
I hate to say it when it's all said and done it's gear, it's cool gear and all but it's just stuff to make music on. I bought what I liked, called it good, went on to making music with it.
Never been much to drool over anything when it was never presented as unobtanium by the shops I visited, just some things to be treated with care and respect.
And the Hendrix strat wasn't anything to write home about, it wasn't as nice as the then new Jeff Beck signature model ones that had just come in.

My pedalboard costs approximately 191 Metal Zones.
I'm a man of fairly simple tastes. But i do get to handle my dream guitar an awful lot. Then there's the fcked up fever dream guitars that I don't know why I am so excited by...

I have a local store that carries some INSANE gear. Like an 8-string 4001 (well, it probably wasn't actually a 4001, but it was an 8-string Ric), and fuckin' $25,000 Strat. They're nice guys, and they tolerate me, so every now and then I'll pick up something nice in the bass room, plug it in, quietly make an ass of myself, buy some strings and leave.
They had a scroll-headstock Ampeg bass that was pretty sweet. And some ridonkulously heavy Ovation basses that sounded crazy good. Couple o' Travis Bean basses and aluminum-necked Kramers.
Basically every time I go in it's just: "Want that. Want that. Want that. Scared to touch that. Want that. Need to sell my car to put down a deposit on that. Want that..."
hey behndy - is this the store in shibuya that is about 4 or 5 stories up? about the size of your living room? across the street from the l'occitane cafe? It looks like it from decor and it was the only shop in Japan that I saw that a lot of high end stuff (I'm pretty sure because of that pedestal in the middle). I did a demo in there for Phil Jones Bass.
I don't really have much to say on the "dream gear" as I own all the stuff I wanted and have played most of the stuff from all the builders after many years of the NAMM show. Guess I'm a little spoiled in that regard. Was never too crazy on Carl Thompson or Fodera stuff.
yahpers. right across the pedo bridge from the station. BOOP. cool guys too.
i was suuuuuuper neat-i-fied by the build and it's been a whole Untouchable Lust thinger for me with the CT's. crazy nice build. but.... i like my Dinger better.
