Cheap Baritone build?

Post by gunslinger_burrito »

So I want to play some seriously low-tuned stuff, but I need string tension, dammit. I know you can get baritone necks off of Warmoth, I have some pickups lying around, but does anyone know what would make a decent body, on kind of a budget? I'd be using the thing for noise/doom, so it doesn't have to be really nice quality; I'm kinda thinking of checking out the pawn shops..... ideas? thanks!

As long as you match tele with tele and strat with strat/jazzmaster/etc Warmoth necks are awesome and I recommend them. A Squier Tele body and a Warmoth neck would run you under $350

Yep, it's good! The tuners are alittle slop.

HOwever, this does leave me with some extra baritone gear. Ive got a jazzmaster body with a warmoth conversion neck, ill get a BST thread going soon.

I don't need the guitar but I want that conversion neck.

Careful going the Jazzy route if you want the baritone project to remain cheap.

Heh yeah. I'm finding that out too hahaha

Lets get a total going for my build....

$200 for neck and tuners
$270ish for the Jazzmaster
$170 for the Mastery Bridge

$640 so far. I don't really regret it though as I've always wanted a Jazzmaster. Just definitely not the cheapest!
