FWIW, I used a bone stock chinese RAT2 before I had my Rat Tail, and I still loved it.

I'm gonna nag someone locally to build me a turbo rat clone with these mods:
-ruetz mod (the 2 pot version)
-R1 from 220k to 1M
-the resistor to ground in front of the FET to 1M

Think it should work. I'm open for suggestions if you have any.

Gonna be giving my Bass Rat another go here when I can muster up some more funds to buy another board.
It'll have Ruetz, 3 way clipping, clean blend, feedback loop with tunable oscillation... Derp. RAT ON BASS IS DA SHIZ

I have a 'You dirty rat' pedal and it is the main dirt for my active bass. Being active, I can crank the lows to compensate the rat's low end loss. The tone it produces reminds me of a bowed upright bass.

Personally, I prefer Turbo Rats on bass, but ymmv and whatnot.
I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.

When I was 12 (I think) I bought my first pedal which was a Turbo Rat because I heard Krist used a rat. Now, I'm wanting to come full circle again. Ha.

but really fuck clean blend!!!!!!! Krist slays it with the rat. That bass fills in all the necessary holes and bonerfies me to the twelth power.

Also, what got me thinking of rats again is this band:

The bassist uses a Biyang Mouse. Haze (track 6) in particular showcases it well.

Amen. I used to really like clean blends, but then I started getting into doom, which promptly put an end to that.

Minus the Ruetz, I believe what you've described is jut the OG Rat. IvIark based his layout on the '86 Rat:

It'd be pretty easy to add the Ruetz pots in, too.
