Help with my fuzz purchase please!

Post by GreatAnt »

I'm finally getting around to having the time to get some fuzz's! I've been doing some research and have found some that I'm really interested in, but because of where I live, I'm unable to play mainly all of them!

What I'm really looking for is an original swollen fuzz sound in a modern pedal. I really really like the sound of the original SP but don't want to get a new one. That sound would be an ideal rhythm sound for me.
I also am attracted to intuitive, creative fuzz pedals. Things that sound bent and twisted, thin and fat.

With this in mind, can you guys recommend me any pedals that can satisfy my needs?!

So far I really like:

PTD
Dwarft craft
Original Swollen Pickle (hard to find)

Cheers

The Dwarfcraft Zhago does look like a beast and they seem nothing but quality. I'd put my money on that.

Swollen Pickle = Big Muff
Get a Hoof and be done with it.

*I had an original SP and a bunch of Hoofs (Hooves?) and ... one or two other muffs ... the Hoof can totally do what the Pickle could do, esp if you get a good one.
**Or just hang out on fleabay and snag an original ... price has come down a lot since the reissue.

maybe an eau claire thunder from dwarfcraft or from EQD - a hoof for muff sounds or a dirt transmitter for dirty ripping fuzz tones.
Fuzz, reverb, delay.

If you have the cash, I recommend the Eau Claire Thunder by Dwarfcraft. Got those swollen muff tones and the intuitive creative feedback switch. Thin and fat and all that.

and the Muff thing is done. Get one.

Hoof is also good, but i like the more cutting blunderbuss a lot more. And it has a shitton of bass too.
