Cheers, I'm almost freaking out. Gonna make sure I'm there for their full coundcheck.
I want to experience the awesomeness, eyeball the gear etc.
I never know what to say to these sorts of folk when I meet them, but if the opportunity presents, I'll definitely say hello...

Interesting reading: the press release from the Australian promoter, including a decent spat with John Wiese

I saw Earth on The Bees tour back before they switched over to lighter gear. It was AWESOME. I saw them on the last tour too, still awesome, but the first time was just LOUD

Earth show coming up in Boston has Eagle Twin supporting :!!!:

And Sunn O))) slayed last night. Have been a fan for years...and even stone sober, I was blown away by the tones, atmosphere and dynamics (I know, I know). Maybe a bit long in the tooth, but definitely better than I expected.
Special low-frequency version.

I saw them in NY and my whole body was shaking. I felt like I was going to vomit my intestines at one point. My teeth were chattering and I wanted to die in the best possibly way. But Winter really blew my mind and I was in the first row during repulsion, head-banging, air-guitaring and standing in absolute awe the whole time. If you havent heard winter I highly suggest for some kvlt doom that is sooo slow and groovy.

i'm thinking i should be sober for the show to truly appreciate it and just trip off the sounds and stuff...but i'm also thinking of getting mind blowingly stoned as well.

I have a feeling i might regret that though. About half the time I'm super stoned I get trapped in negative feedback loops in my brain. That plus Sunn O))) might be a one way ticket to the VO)))ID.

very true but being supremely stoned might propel you further into the voooiiiiiiiddd of darkness which might be a good thing for the time being.

I was curious how it'd be not stoned because, you know, I rarely listen to sunn o)) when I'm NOT stoned.
The seats in the theater were totally vibrating with some of the notes, it was pretty awesome. There were early parts of the show where earplugs were not necessary and we could just dig the gee-tar toanz. Really. And this from a guy who wears earplugs when playing thru one V4.

I kind of liked watching peoples reactions to sunn o)))) more than watching them. People were convulsing to the deathly vibrations and others were screaming and others held there fists up the entire time. I personally sat down and let the vibrations shake me away. The fog transported me to a distant cold mountain in my mind and I closed my eyes and felt the sounds.
