Super Clean, Super Cheap!, Bass heads.

Post by Helter »

Alright dudes so I have a problem. I recently got a bass :yay: , I don't know anything about bass amps. ANYTHING. I need a cheap, like dirt cheap ($100-$250 MAX) bass head, preferably a head anyway. The only thing I want is clean super sexy clean tones. Oh, and looking for used to so that would be $250 max used prices. Thanks and I appreciate any and all responses because this is a uncharted territory for me.

You should be able to get a Hartke HA3500 in the $200-250 range, maybe cheaper. Stupid loud and doesn't get dirty without pedals, plus those fancy light-up EQ sliders.

Got myself a Hartke HA3500. I'd recommend it, does what I need it to nicely.

Sounds phat with a Moog running through it or a fuzz'd up bass.

As far as what I'll be using it seriously for is basically just root notes and like background noise as far as recording but I would of course (and will most often) like to fuck around with fuzz, etc.

I used to have an Acoustic B200 but they make a version that's just the head. I'm not sure if they are under $200 but they were pretty nice.

The B200 is actually dirt cheap but I'm really liking the hartke so far.

After my band plays it's last show Friday I'll sell you my Sunn Concert Bass for like...$250, plus shipping. That gets damn loud and clean for 200 watts.
