AB-2INTH. The cat's out of the bag, and wasted on Absinthe.

:!!!: :!!!: :!!!: :!!!: :!!!:

Throughout early 2012, the AB-Synth was in very limited production...a PCB order mishap left me with a crazy limited supply of PCBs. The time off got me thinking about revisions, I tested them over a few months, and the AB-Synth is now firmly in v2.

(It's been in effect for a while now...Prymaxe has been stocking them, FH has been delivering them for a couple months. So they're out there!)

· February 2009 alpha: One footswitch version. (Oscillation on a toggle.) Few made.
· March 2009 v1: Oscillation moved to footswitch. Some changes to control sweeps.
· Fall 2011 - v1.5: Trip knob revised to Voice/Trip knob, which built the popular Voice toggle into a knob.

· Spring 2012 - v2:
····· As in v1.5, the Trip knob remains revised to Voice/Trip, which built the popular Voice toggle into a knob. This knob works in both modes! In fuzz mode, it's a voice/flavor control that adjusts low end response and gain level. In Trip mode, it's a dramatic oscillation control, from fast and blippy to slow and low!
····· Clip knob replaces Text for a much more dramatic texture/character control, adjusting clipping and compression. In oscillation mode, you can get lots more self-arpeggiation.

You should... really. Best oscillation ever.

Do you mean it's doing the voice (like the voice push/pull) and the gain (like the 5th knob on a 5k) at the same time with only 4 knobs? Or it's something different?

The Voice knob is like the Voice push-pull...but adjusts continuously between the two settings of the push-pull. It's not a dual-gang that's also doing gain a Gain knob...but it does adjust gain a bit (but more subtly than a Gain knob).

I'm guessing there's no way to upgrade old v1 models to this version?

Hmm...actually, in most cases, I could mod them to v2. But it'd involve either:
1) Replacing the Text and Trip knobs with the V2 upgrades.
2) Side-mounting 1-2 knobs.
