How many pedals do you have/like for a board?

I have six, but nine if you count my volume, tuner, and my channel switcher. So boom, you decide. Two mod. Three gain. One El Cap. Those others.

I could stand (ie: can't afford) to maybe add four-ish (phaser, trem, reverb...) more and maybe replace some gain. So that would be ten. Or 13 if you count those others.

So have at it! I was just wondering how many people usually keep around. Or live with like me! :snax:

I like it at around 5 or 6, and I usually only have reverb delay and dirt on my board. I like lots of different dirt textures to stack and cycle through. I find myself gas'n for a flanger these days though. Right now I'm clocking in at 5 with a Basic Audio Scarab>Dirge Electronics Black Russian Muff>RRR>Digitech Death Metal>TC Electronics Flashback.

Anymore than 6, and I would get confused and fed up. I'd really be happy with just a muff and a reverb at the end of the day. Or just a muff, depending on how good the amp reverb is!

Guitar board is 7 pedals including volume and tuner, plus theres 2 controller pedals i didnt include in that count. If i add another it would have to be some sort of multi-use modulation pedal like an m5 or a ModFactor.

Bass board is currently 5 including volume and tuner, only thing I'm looking to add is a custom preamp / di box.

Off the board i think i have a dano fabtone, a t1m mini buffer, and a homemade treble / bass booster.

I do need a tuner very badly, but those don't count as pedals to me, they're just as necessary as your amp or your guitar.

I've also been interested in having a wah pedal, but I'm not sure how much I'd actually use it. I would probably only use it for the cocked wah sound a la Mick Ronson or howls of screeching feedback like JAMC or APTBS...

I've got close to 15-20 in all probably now, it rises and falls pretty regularly. I need to slim down again cause stuff is starting to sit. I've got a thru-amp board, and then I've got a DI board that I use for recordings.

As far as on my thru-amp board, I've got 6 not including volume and tuner.
For my DI board I've got 4 not including volume.

I've got 12 pedals on my cover board right now, and my originals board that I'm building will have 11, I think.

The covers board is 2 dirt/fuzz, 3 modulation, delay, whammy, wah, synth, comp, tuner, and ls-2 for loops.

The originals board will have 2 fuzz, 2 synth, 3 modulation, bitcrusher, space station, delay and an exp pedal.

I've currently got 5 plus a volume pedal. I think I got probably get by with just a good fuzz/drive and a delay, or even just a delay if the amp had good distortion.

Board is just the start of my basic setup (I have a dozen or so rack units, a Mustang V head for recording, a Space Echo, etc), and I'm in the process of rebuilding the board to be dirt only (ok, one pedal on it is a combo with analog delay and trem plus octave fuzz in one box). Also not counting the guitar synth or the other couple multifx floor units I have laying around.

Pedal count is somewhere around 30, 9-10 should be on the board when I'm done. I could dump some but then I'd miss them later. I sold off the box of 'don't really use these' by and large last year, although there's still a box of some in the closet that get pulled out for very special purposes, and some just sit there collecting dust, I mean becoming vintage.

My pedalboard costs approximately 191 Metal Zones.

I have 19 pedals, with five on one board and the rest floating in and out of the chain of a second board while I decide what I want that board to be. I'm thinking one small board and one big board, but I'm having trouble deciding what should go on which board.

I like to keep things fairly simple and try not to throw every pedal I own onto my boards.

Bass board = 5 - Pedal Tuner, Octave, Dirt, Modulation, Reverb or Delay

Guitar Board = 8 - Pedal Tuner, Octave Down, Dirt (x2), Modulation (x2), Delay, Reverb
