My longtime band, Orthodox Fuzz, has finally decided to get serious about doing some recording. We have a new EP called "Ritual Volume" now completed and we are about to do the full court press release within the next 30 to 60 days. Being that it's an EP, we'll do a self release this go round. We picked this song to release first because it’s probably the most accessible to a wider audience, we usually attract fans of stoner rock/doom but over the past year or two, we've kind of evolved into more of a southern hard rock band and lots of chicks have been coming to our shows (not a bad thing, they like the groove I guess).
The song is called Masquerade and the guitars are all Gibson and Orange. I used a stock Gibson Flying V and a 2007 Orange Rockerverb 100 MKI and our other guitarist used a Gibson Les Paul Traditional and 1975 OR120being pushed by a Black Arts Toneworks Pharoah.

Below is a quasi-press release lol. I hate this part of doing a release, but it is what it is.
(Fort Worth, TX) Heavy southern rock band Orthodox Fuzz has announced "Ritual Volume" as the title of their forthcoming four-song EP. The EP was recorded in Mesquite, TX at Klearlight Studios with Scott Cooksey (Divine Eve, Hammerlock, Roller) manning the board and producing. The riff heavy EP is demonstrates the diversity of styles the Fuzz the plays while staying true to their southern and heavy rock roots. The band is looking at a late 2012 release date for the full EP.
Formed in the fall of 2007 and now into their fifth year, Orthodox Fuzz is still bringing a unique and ever evolving style of heavy southern rock to the fans of Dallas/Fort Worth and the surrounding region. Whether it’s playing to a packed dive bar on a Saturday night or opening for a variety of established artists such as Saint Vitus, Kill Devil Hill, Eyehategod, Rigor Mortis, or David Allan Coe -- Orthodox Fuzz is always looking to make new fans with every performance.
The "Fuzz" began as a traditional doom metal project with the desire to play music inspired by Black Sabbath, Saint Vitus, Trouble, Electric Wizard, Sleep, and Reverend Bizarre. Over the years and through a number of personnel changes, the band has evolved their sound to encompass influences from classic rock, stoner rock, grunge and southern rock. The main drivers for all Fuzz music from day one have been the riff and a groove. With the addition of Andrew Kimbrell on vocals in early 2012, the band is taking the opportunity to leverage his broad range and sense of melody to further expand their sonic palette. They are currently working on several new songs with Andrew that will most likely see the light of day in 2013 as a full LP release.
