M9 over DL4 all day, you have to. Among many options, using the volume pedal setting while in the looper is instant Frippertronics. Or you can set 3 (or 6) different eq settings and loop over a wide sonic territory. I've also not tried the Vox, it looks cool, but it's only delays, no filters, no dirt.
I did have an SMMH and it had cool delays (the normal reverse really is great; the 6 second reverse is great in theory but never worked right), but it puts that EHX nano shinyness over everything. Some will say it sounds too digital. I say it's the sonic equivalent of sleeping on a comfy couch with the plastic cover over it. You could loop delays but you can't retrigger loops like the Line 6's which is a total necessity for looping in my book.
i use the M9 more for the octaver and weird stuff than delays (Timelinie ftw), but i like the looper on the M9 way better than the one on the TL. maybe the delays on the M9 are better for guitar than for bass? i just always thought some were ok, but almost everything on the TL is pure, breast milk soaked power.
M9 is awesome though. verrrrrry cool.

I bought my DMC4 but waited so long that I ended up selling the TimeLine before I even got the DMC4. The TimeLines looper apparently hated how hot my signal was. It would crackle and make all sorts of horrible noises
huh. i just hate the way the thing is implemented. never had a noise problem. but my signals not super hot. it's HAWT, but not that HOT.
hurrrrrm. that's a good idea though Skully. 'm gonna get at them see if they have a dl to reprogram the DMC to run the M9's looper. thanks for thinking of that!
you suh, ROKK. like BIRDS.

just simple, no different modes needed. if there's a way to not have to switch between patch mode into looper mode from the M9's footie switches and have the three buttons be start/stop/restart i would be MOIST. hella. i'm a little damp thinking about it.
GIMME.

How good is the looper on the Delay Lab? Is it versatile at all?
ILF pedals: DE Eye of God, Mellowtone Wolf Computer, Mellowtone Singing Tree LE, Fuzzhugger Arc Flash Oscillator, DSc Miniberator, Mysterious J boost/cut/tremolo pedal

Freal? Do splain.
So like, it's got all the delay functions I like, but it has fucking three variants of each too. PHASED REPEATS AND STUFF. And, the looper was pretty easy to use, and I do not use loopers at all. Like, ever. That function goes COMPLETELY unused on my M9.

Matt'eh just got back to me, he said if you upload the DMC 4 Line 6 firmware it gives you the looper controls for the M9.
".... if you upload the DMC-4 M-series firmware it will work too. You'll have record / dub, play / stop, and reverse / halfspeed on the three buttons. You won't have undo without the extra button on the DMC-4 but it's a start. Reverse and halfspeed are both on the center button - press to engage reverse and hold to engage half. The LED will light red, blue, or red+blue (violet) to let you know what's on."
i'm hoping i have time tonight or tomorrow to upload play with that. NICE.
