Photo eye volume pedal

wo what all would be involved in using a photo eye as a volume pedal.. you could do really tight swells... then you couild add a light hooked up to an oscilator and youd have a tremelo pedal?
any ideas? :idk:

A very clean boost with an expression or PEEP replacing the pot, just like the zvex tremolo probe, guess that's all you'd need really.

only thing is photo eyes only have two leads while pots have 3....
so would input-photoeye-output work?

Yea I realise the peep is just an LDR so you'd need to build some kind of circuit which I guess removes the simplicity of it. However the SHO grounds 2 lugs so it can be used (and is the circuit in the tremolo probe)

So I fugured it out today on ye old breadboard.. If add don't add an led or the trem option it doesn't need power so of you wanted to you could throw it by your stage lights if you wanted to...
Now I just need some cool names.. :wow what a fantastic idea you have there:

I just used a lpb for the booster...
Then a ledacle from bleep labs..

so did you ground one lead of the eye and the other went to where the 3rd lug on the booster went?

i had an idea: drill a small hole in the side of an enclosure and wire the led up to a 3pdt so it would be an indicator and a snake light thing! eh?

i think im going to use the sho instead of a lpb, easier to incorperate an eye into it
also, attackman, how do you like it as a volume pedal?

It works pretty well I'm not gonna reveal all the secrets yet untill I see if I can start production.. But the lpb and eye are seperate so u can have a boost and/or an eye

However the photo eye is connected to the signal and to ground.. So dark=sound and light=silence..
