Bass trade possibly in the works again!!!!!! Hahahahaha! I may end up getting another 25th Anniversary HSS in 5 string this time. That would be AWESOME. Or the runner up is a Dingwall Afterburner 1. Which would also be awesome.

So...I have a new toy; my mom, who is notorious for buying expensive technology and then refusing to learn how to operate it, gave me her 11" MacBook Air on the condition that I take her to the Apple store for a desktop Mac in a few days (like that one will be any easier for her to use...). I have mixed feelings about the Air, but I've only had it for 48 hours - love the screen res (but I wish it were bigger); not sure how I feel about not having any sort of optical drive, but good USB ones are available for under $80; I've already replace the factory mouse with a Logitech M510 that has actual buttons on it and stuff. I'm gonna mess with it (the Air) for a few weeks and then decide if I want to keep it or try to deal it off in favor of a Windows-powered laptop. I have been wishing for some form of laptop for awhile now, and this is a nice piece of gear, and it was free, and so I may learn to live with the minuses it has...

You could just install windows on it, the intel macs run it great. The 11's are a little small, but honestly it's hard to beat free.

That is a consideration, especially since I currently have three separate/valid Windows licenses, and this is a Intel machine. I'd definitely want a DVD drive beforehand tho (that pesky missing optical drive issue), and I want to spend some time with it as it sits now to see if I can get it to do what I want before doing major surgery like an OS swap. I still have to get Thunderbird set up on it (Firefox was a breeze to get running tho), and there's a TON of factory-installed stuff on the drive that I'd like to clear out to recover the space they take up (a single 60 gig flash storage chip seems so small when compared with the 150, 320, and 500 gig drives on my Windows rig).

I don't know, I've not had an optical drive on my laptop in years (5). It's just not really an issue anymore. I suppose it depends on what you use your laptop for...

Well I'm planning on keeping it for a long time. When I originally was trying to flip my 25th, it was in order to get a 25th 5 string. I just ended up with something different because GAS struck. HAH. I don't like flipping basses. It's such a pain in the ass. So this would be one that is staying for a long time.

I'm leaning towards the MM, but the Dingwall is appealing. Hmm...gotta think. Gotta think!

How much do those Dingers go for new btw?
