I wish brother re: the pedal company starting production :(

Not too sure when they're going to be back but they're definitely one of the 'forefathers' at least in Australia as far as boutique effects are concerned. Made some really cool shit most of which I've only ever seen in pedalboards. I'll be sure to ask music stores if they're aware of anything "comebacks" or anything by the guys 'cos it would admittedly be sweet for all parties concerned (I assume they'll make a little more this time as parts are easier to come by).

I had written the dude (Paul Perry? something like that) an email about a Resonator two years or so ago. He said something about still wanting to be able to build pedals but that his situation would not allow for it. I think there is someone really ill in his family and he is working a lot to support them. Not so sure about that snippet of info. It might be that he wrote something about that but it might also have been some sort of interwebz rumor. So I would not be counting on him coming back soon. On the other hand we might pester and petition the shit out of him. If he dedicated all of his time to pedals he might make as much of it and we would be happy too.
Seriously though, I think we won't see Frostwave back any time soon.

That's pretty terrible :( ...if it's true but I still wouldn't go believing something I read.

Either way I'll ask a couple of the "noise shops" if they've heard any updates on the situation and report back. It'd be great if I knew anyone who stocked his pedals but I guess there are a few safe bets in QLD, VIC and NSW.

If it's true about the family situation though I know how he feels. I couldn't even ship one of my amps to a guy who sent me money and after a couple days I had to write back and send him the money/pay the fees out of my pocket. I just couldn't work up the energy or whatever to walk into a store and ask for a box to send it interstate so I can't imagine how it'd be to try concentrate on intricate wiring when 'not in the zone'. I think it's definitely underestimated but I can see how it's been abused (just look at the countless builders on TGP who've taken people's money and used that excuse). So if it means no more Frostwave then I guess we have to commend him further for not fucking anyone about and just fight like animals with one another to grab whatever pops up on eBay   :!!!:

Paul was or is (not sure) active on DIYstompboxes and is probably pretty open with his designs or at least the building blocks. I remember something along the lines of Phanta's story as well. Seems to be a good dude with a good product and the wrong circumstances. If I recall he was Melbourne based.

Welp, my unfocused GAS has found its fix: Whammy V and a T. Rex Chameleon.
Now, I just have to wait for stuff to sell and another Prymaxe coupon. :erm:

EDIT: Also, a RRR.

Put in my order for the new pickguard for my fretless...

It's white.. sorry guys... but it's a cool white: clear with white under paint and rounded edges.

Parts for a Soda Meiser with chaos, noise and SM/VFM switches.
Man, so simple. I might actually enjoy building this one.

Fair enough, guess you'll just have to get another Ric to go with the black guard idea.

in further GAS news...if I can sell some guitars, definitely strongly considering buying a used Jim Campilongo Tele. I don't play anything like him - although I would probably hit my mother in the face with a shovel to do so - but DAMN that thing is cool.

p.s. cable dorks: what kind of cable is that?
