B standard? on a 24" scale? Your a brave man, I like it. I gotta hit you up on facebook, we finally decided on a date for the party / noise fest but you could bring the guitar to me anytime and i can set it up. It''s funny that's exactly what i wanted a Jaguar in B standard, but i'm getting the HH Baritone Special to do that with

I play a lot of slide and play on flats. It's awesome. I highly recommend it. Way less string noise.
ALLisNOISE wrote:What about half wound or ground wound strings.
In my experience, groundwound strings are NOT a good compromise. You get all of the disadvantages of both rounds and flats and none of the advantages of either.

Gah this is gonna be great. I assume I'm probably going to have to reslot the nut and possibly have some bridge adjustment?
I actually found the .014s a little too heavy for me. They may work for you. I ended up going back to .012s. I've used .014s on a bunch of different guitars and've never had to reslot the nut. I guess it depends on how tight the nut is in the first place, but, yeah, a little set up'll be in order.

I'd really eventually like to convert the Jaguar over to a Baritone. Maybe with some birthday money I can get a decent neck and still put some money away to apese the wife. The only thing that makes me nervous on the Jaguar is that the bridge isn't really low being a Blacktop. Might have to save the Baritone neck for the Jazzmaster, but then I could swap the Jazzmaster neck on the Jaguar.
And Ancient, hit me up on Facebook, planning now is good cause then I could free up my schedule for it, and we can also figure out a time to meet up for the setup!

I haven't found a baritone conversion neck for 24" scale guitars only 25.5" scale. Also Jazzmaster and Jaguar necks are not swapable, different scale lengths. You could easily convert the jazzy to a baritone though, just order a strat baritone conversion neck.
Will do I told my little lady to make an event but i don't think she's had a chance yet.

Yeah. And I'm okay with leaving the Jaguar 24" scale. I'm not sure why I want to do baritone because honestly really I'd like to go 30" and do a bass VI. Might as well just get an Agile Angus at that point

Before you go baritone you should come play mine once it comes in and see if it's something you really want to do. Mine's gonna be 27" scale though. If you want a 30" scale, def go with the Agile Argus.

I think what is most appealing is the E-E one octave lower thing. The more that I think about it, I believe I saw a band a few years ago in Richmond using a bass VI and it was fucking rad

Then go for a 30" scale, those bass VI's are wicked.

Well when that time comes, lemme know I could always use a back up 24" scale Jag, too bad it's not black.
