Oh....my...GOD. BugBrand? Did Tom build all of those at once for you and shizz? That thing is fucking AMAZING. Sexy SEXY rack too.

Sorry for the late reply - haven't hit up teh ILFs in a while

Tom built these slowly over about 2 years, many have come and gone (mostly to Kosta!) while realizing this setip. I've been part of Tom's beta testing group since he embarked on the modular adventure.

Thanks for your comments on the rack - it's a one-off custom job that I had Front Panel Express do for me. They do awesome work but it's a stupidly expensive way to have a mounting/enclosure/rack system made. I am very VERY in love with this system.

That's why I don't loop "measures" or "synchronize" anymore. DONE. It's all texture, babay.

yup. The really interesting stuff happens when you have a couple of loops going in complete different measures or times or whatever the hell you wanna call it, to each other.

Thanks to one ILF member and two awesome CL dudes I obtained this shizzz... I got the Axiom to run the Minitaur (Minipause as Hummus says) and it's great... Fun times here for sure... :!!!:

Lost in a world of Analog Bass Space... :trippy:

The Opus looks so new I had to take it apart to make sure it wasn't fake... :erm:

Either way, boss synth rig, dude! :joy:

Thanks man, it is pretty BOSS...

I can get instant Space/Kraut with the Opus and then blow you away with Sub Dub Bass...

Now I can live loop my pocket piano and add in field recordings
Definitely not as complicated as anybody elses though but it's all I need and I can trigger midi with it too so more sounds!

That looks like a splitter to run two signals into the looper.

And that looper seems so awesome. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it

The little box is just an aby. The weirdest thing about the kaleidoloop is that it doesn't actually have a through signal so to get it to play for live looping of say a guitar or synth that you can still hear the original signal with you need a parallel signal.
At the moment the looper goes straight to my amp while the live piano line goes through my effects. I think I'd like to get a signal blender so I could run both lines through the effects.

The looper is limited but in the best way, like there are serious limitations but I used an RC50 for years and there was way too much going on there plus the loops didn't work half the time and I ran out of recording time and you know blah. The sound quality is downright amazing, like 16 bit / 22050 Hz apparently. The thing is it's so simple but it's like a triumph of usability and interface design which matters to me as a graphic designer nerd. Shit just works and is right where it needs to be. I am excited for the possibilities with it recording to an SD card as well for sound manipulation in post but I mean you can do that with most loopers. The variable playback speed knob is super intuitive too and has massive range. The included mic is actually pretty good too I think using it as a line in device would actually make a really good recording interface as well if you wanted to pull double duties. Plus it looks cool.

The best thing is that it's making me get more interesting with the sounds I make due to the portability. I'm writing a song now that has a reverse husky howl backwards at low speed as a looping bassline. And I never would have thought about that before but since I can carry it around in my bag it's always there to pick up something cool when I hear it

In terms of negatives, no overdubbing and I think when I get a lot of loops on there navigating them might be a bitch. That said considering 256mb gives you over an hour of loops and those cost like 50c now you could just swap out cards like a gameboy. Super happy with it but it is expensive for what it is.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER NERD???? HOLY SHIT I LOVE YOU. I JUST GRADUATED WITH MY BA IN GD IN MAY

Anyways that sounds like total radsauce. I like how simple and utilitarian it seems to be, and like you said, can you immagine a 32 gig memory card in that? Wow

Monotribe (modded with Amazing Machines' amazing MIDITribe I/O and controlled using an Alesis Q25) into Fuzz Factory clone into ODB-3 (BEST) into PDS-1002 into DFX9.

In an ideal world I'd have two PDS-1002s and two DFX9s so I can have permanent "guitar" and "synth" setups but yeah.

Will eventually replace the Monotribe with a different monosynth, but for now it does a great job.
Jerk Kerouac (harsh noise)
Kalimantan (improv not-jazz shambles)
ZDICM (space-drone-synth-thing)
