new FUZZ day....awwwww yeah!

will have a full report on this one after NAMM...too busy packing and getting ready for the epic bobby d & newarkwilder NAMM roadtrip.

but here's a pic of thee sexy new OX FUZZ

NOS germanium NKT 274 trannies from early 70s.

handbuilt, very nice work, and only $150 (way to GO! i like affordable effects)

the maker is very cool, in a band called Sons of Otis that does heavy blues stoner doom rock....

i dig the knobs....

I'm seeing these lately at a few shops in Toronto, but I haven't had the chance to check them out yet. Do they have a site?

i just go thru playing it a little....this NKT 274 version is everything a standard germ fuzzface is supposed to be -=-- very warm and rich sounding, with some almost octavey overtones. i liked it with gain DIMED, and using guitar volume to roll back to almost clean sound.

i have a couple of other really nice silicon style fuzzes about, but did not have a germanium one for "traditional" fuzz tones. i think this one will work quite well or that!

i want to try "stacking" it with some other dirt pedals and see what happens!

anyhow........this pedal has the same sort of meticulous build quality that other builders have, and is really quite nice for $150. :thumb:

will be doing a demo FO SURE.

this thing has a LOT of bass. fair amount of gain for a germ fuzz. clarity is there, but it's a FUZZ.....not very polite :animal:

listen to the song "haters" on the "sons of otis" myspace, that sound is pretty close to the sound of this fuzz i have with the NKT 274s....
