Mopho mini review

Built: tuff as shit
ease of use: was able to do most things without cracking manual :thumb:
Sound: Lush, round, big, warm, smooth.

Pros: sounds, keys are tuff and full sized, cohesive controls, is yellow.
Cons: power supply may be noisy, wish it was a inch smaller so it could be racked, is yellow.

Vs Moog: over sound is more airy and smooth vs moog's just f-ing big and badassness. To me it makes more sense to get a DS to go with a moog then having more then one of each this way you can cover a HUGE amout of analog synth ground :thumb:

My girlfriend got me one the other week for my birthday. Haven't played with it much yet but really looking forward to getting stuck into it!

urm..... so many reasons. can have multiples at practice/the keyboardist's/mine's for no money. the whole patch share thing. having everything live inside a computer.

i know they're not as tasty as the big analog synthies (i lust after that MoPHO a bit), it's just easier and cheapah and all space saving and all.

also, totally fapped to her. DEAL WITH IT.

Oh I like soft synths too! cool thang is I can haz control of soft synths cuz it is usb and all :thumb:
So I can record the analog and send midi to the soft synths all at the same time, thing is bomb!

Still I don't know about the wood ends... I really wanted it to be able to fit on a rack shelf.. I'm pretty sure it would without the wood... final rig idea is to put it with the moog in a mixer rack with a few things for a totally badass rig thingy

Now if only you had a Minitaur... all kidding aside, thank you SO MUCH for these demos. I'm stuck in a pickle trying to decide which synth/sampler to get with new software and this certainly gives me a better idea of what each offers. To be honest I think if I get a Moog I'll be getting a Critter and Guitari MIDI Pocket Piano to control them, or if I get the Mopho I won't need to.

Keyz - 850
no keyz - 399

I don't think I would have got it if I hadn't already put like 500 into a minibrute months ago that I go sick of waiting on...

and the new 4 voice Mopho x4 is $1299.

The 4 encoders on the desktop Mopho aren't much fun, so unless you have an NRPN-capable MIDI controller or want to use the computer editor, the keyboard is the way to go. I got my Mopho before the keyboard was out, but my trusty PC-1600 is perfect for tweaking the sequencer :thumb:

Few questions: how's the arpeggiator? Does it latch? Also, what does that button that says "Push it!" only for tap tempo?

If you could only keep one (Mopho or Slim Phatty) which one would you keep?
