Witch Fuzz

What can get this sound? I was reading stacked fuzz and boost was probably the cause of the sound, but I was hoping for one box. It sounds muff'd...but it's probably one from J's collection I'll never be able to afford.

How fucking scary would it be to get the call, "Yo it's J. I want you in my band...and you will be the sole guitarist."

That's got that kinda splatty lo-fi sound to it loud and cutting can also feedback if needed.

I delved into it when the album first came out.
If I recall correctly, the guitarist said in an interview that it was an EHX Double Muff into a clean amp.
I've had Double Muffs though, and I could never get them to sound like that.

That type of sound is all about fuzz & amp interplay. It's about the fuzzes level and the amps gain and volume and how hard you are pushing everything.

He wouldn't say that. The phone call'd be like:

"Hey, it's Kyle, who's there?"
"Mrrhmhmhmblgrmh?"
"Dude, J, is that you?"
"Hmrm"
"So, what's up?"
"Hrm hrmmhmhmhmhmhlblhrm hrm hrm."
"No shit? Awesome, man. Always wanted to be on stage next to you."
"Hrmrm HrmHRM."
"Waht?"
"HrmHRM!"
"I think I need to poo."

I can definitely see how it has to be amp and fuzz but I think I've heard some fuzzers that get really squished and splatty that may get close. One of the DBA's Apocalypse setting is close but that's a lot. My velcroar gets into this territory hard left on texture but it's not as fuzzered.

Maybe? :idk: That Remedy is one of the few fuzzes that has really peaked my interest recently.

The Wright Sounds Fuzz-Stang II can get really close to that.

Hahaha yeah yours is the more accurate depiction. Mine would be Aziz Ansari's interpretation

First fuzz I thought of is the Malekko 213 Plus Ultra Fuzz.

Other than that, my Dirge Electronics Super Hard Stampede can get there with some amp EQ tweaking.

Maybe Fairfield Circuitry Four Eyes in some setting.
It could get that kind of fixed wah sound.

It was the blown fuzz I was digging. Fuzzstang for sure. However the dba apocalypse is only 60 more and does that and other things…

I forgot how great that fuzz stang sounds. I wonder if schematics are around.

The song was actually recorded with a vintage EHX Little Big Muff.
Although it sounds like a fuzz face being raped by an MKI Tonebender.
