My Telecaster won't shut the fuck up!
You can probably guess; MAD hum-idge coming from my tele when my hands aren't on the strings and when I play open strings. I'm fairly certain this is a grounding problem as it stops when my hand touches the and metal on the bridge plate. There's this loose wire underneath the bridge plate that wasn't connected to the original bridge or anything under the control panel. Can some one tell me where the fuck I'm supposed the solder this thing, and will it stop the hum?

Depends, do you have a back plate, if so under there to some metal or the bridge block itself, i'd assume it was the grounding wire, it just has to go to a piece of metal to ground it, unless it's the ground of the jack then it's the second tab of the output jack.
To further reduce hum I thorougly suggest doing this http://www.guitarnuts.com/wiring/menu.php
The quietning the beast article, removes 60's cycle hum and adds some protection against shocks.

you need to ground the bridge, long story short. I'd go from the bridge to the jack, just to be sure.

The wire is coming out of it's own hole underneath the bridge plate so it seems like it just supposed to be squished between the body and the bridge plate, is that right? If so I just need to know where the other end is supposed to go.

Oh right it's still attatched to the bridge in that case you need to solder it to the back of the volume pot.

How old is it? The pickups might need repotting which isn't too hard http://www.projectguitar.com/tut/potting.htm
Or you could do the shielding I mentioned above.

While my Telecaster is opened up, anybody wanna tell me how to wire my two pickups out of phase so the middle position is all quacky, I think it's called cocked wah. Diagrams would be greatly appreciated.

Give me some info on this tele, old, new.
Pickup set up?
Type of noise?
And it's definitley touching the bridge and the back of the volume pot and nothing else?
Try touching the wire to other places see if you can find another ground point, I dunno how your guitars wired but that's the normal way to go, you could put some copper/aluminium foil accross the bottom and ground from the volume pot to that unless that isn't the culprit and it's microphonic feed back or something, or a ground from elsewhere, any chance of pics?

You've got to be sure your whole circuit is grounded. Also, I'd get the bridge off, and be SURE as SHIT that the bridge ground wire is stuck the fuck on! I've even twisted one aorund a mounting screw and grinding it into the body with said screw. Make sure every ground can be traced via a good solder all the way back to the output jack.
If you were here in Eau Claire, we'd fix it tonight!

Re: My Telecaster won't shut the fuck up!
I soldered one on to the steel plate under the bridge pickup once and have done it like Aen.
If all the grounds go to the same spot it should clear it up.
Thats why I like copper foil in the cavity.

Well the humming doesn't seem to be going away so I thought I'd try my Airline(tried the single coil AND the humbucker) , that also started the humming so I thought it might be my amp so I tried 2 other amps and again the hum so I thought it might be my ROOM so I try everything outside of it: still the motherfucking gum is present. I think I might be magnetized.
