one thing I can throw out there, is when a problem occurs always assume tube first. Microphonic tubes are the number one heartache for new tube amp owners. Chances are this amp is going to need new tubes within the first month of ownership (not a guarantee but just likely) One tip to checking tubes is using the eraser end of a wooden pencil to gently tap the tube, if it makes any type of audible sound then it's on its way out. It's really really cool to have vintage or new old stock tubes, but those can cost a ton of money. Don't be sad if you have to replace them with new tubes, in a week you won't even remember it and it will still sound just as great. Remember you want to play through it, not talk about how old it's tubes are. I put a new full set of JJ's in mine and put my old RCA's into the JJ boxes to save for an emergency. The full set I believe cost me $40. other than that:

Truly though, thanks for the tip about microphonic tubes. That's the kind of stuff I'm looking for.
