specifically looking for "input" on guitar rather than bass use.
Maybe partying will help.

When I was at Moog Audio in Montreal a few months ago, I A/B'ed the B:Assmaster with the Black Cat Bass Octave Fuzz, with a guitar through a /13 amp and a bass through some amp I don't remember. And honestly liked the Black Cat more. Both are cool, but the Black Cat just had the edge when it came to guitar, and at a nicer price point.

I've only played the black cat. Cool pedal. Alot more nasty than I had expected.

but yeah, Black Cat only has one thing I'm bumming on - side jacks. Top-mounted jacks or death!
But yeah, cool octave fuzz with top jacks, this is my hunt. Really wish a Wattson Superfuzz would pop up.
Maybe partying will help.

BYOC has an octave fuzz with top jacks. Inexpensive and easy to build. Sounds great too. I have it on my board.

The meanest, cutting-est, slicingest octave-up I've ever gotten on guitar was achieved by driving an Assmaster with a Wolf Computer. So good. I think a Turbo Rat may have been involved as well, butI can't remember where anything was in the chain. But that sound totally ruled.

All of my experiences with the Assmaster end in embarrassment.

Tom and Greg at Black Cat can modify it - they put top jacks on mine
