It's really interesting to watch you guys go through the blowing-it-all-up thing, but I know I couldn't do it. The only way I would ever do it is if I quit my covers band, and focused full-time on my original shit, quit bass altogether, and put together a riduculous modular synth setup. I think that as long as I'm playing something with strings, it's gonna go through a bunch of pedals.

I bought another Xero Deluxe!!! YAH!!!!!!!!! Board is almost complete. I'm actually kind of serious about it this time. Third kid coming, wife may be losing her job, ok who am I kidding, will be losing her job. I make dick for money. But! I'm still happy.

Anyway. Going to stop flipping pedals so much and start focusing on making some drums beats and shit to lay down tracks with people.

Hell I may even take a lesson or two on MSU's advice... Kind of serious though in a way. I might spend the good portion of the rest of this summer working on my technique. Still going to play fuzz and everything else though. I has monster board now.

Whatever jwar. Pedals are soooooo yesterday. We're into laptops, now.

I would much prefer to sit back, let others do it, then mooch off of their settings. Guess I gotta try to blaze the trail.....or it'll be like on Oregon Trail and you'll pass by my headrest......anyone wanna take bets I'll be back to pedals, again? Over/under six months?

But seriously, congrats on the kid. Hope things work out better for your lady. I know that sucks....and an even more sucky thing to go through while pregnant. Bastards letting a pregnant lady go. guh. i need to start taking lessons again. i did for a short time, was so damn busy that i didna put the work in at home i should have, but could see results QUICK. there's a guy i like a lot that plays 6'ers primarily, so his lesson plan is from that perspective.

lol. i have loads of free time lately, but might have a financial obligation disappear soon, which will make me sad, but it's probably going to have to be done. and defo focusing on music helps me a lot.

Behnders.....I think you go WAY more into your pedals than me.....like.....what I use the Timeline for....Polytope....Tremolessence....all that stuff...I think I use it for more subtle thigs that could be easily recreated from other pedals or a laptop....you get way into them and use the more extreme unique parts of the pedal. I'll give it a go. But I'll bet I have an easier time recreating my tones than yours (these are compliments, btw).

Yep. I fucking did it. Well.....really....it can all be undone until I buy a laptop and it goes past the return date. That's my point of no return. And I'm only selling the pedals I think it can definitely replace and that I could replace easier if it doesn't work out. I wouldn't be able to get the laptop moneys back as they are as resellable as pedals....but I'll be left with a great laptop.

that's actually part of the problem i'd have with a computer based effects setup. i'd spend too much time jiggling around with shtuff and combinations. i know how i roll, and something has to have an upper limit of customizability for me to learn it well enough to be able to fix problems on the fly. if it's TOO deep i'll just write toan after toan after TOAN....... never remember where they are or what i intended to use them for. but you've got my attention. i might play with live use of Live for effects a little.

there's a thing they have in Komplete called The Finger i think that is a very performance based take on a soft-multi-effects unit. i've been a git and keep MEANING to look at it, but i think that thing is the tits from the demo's i've seen of it. lol, 'course, it was a demo from the guy that WROTE it, so he better fucking make it look good.

....... i did the part of the shoot where i was wearing a dress with bare feet though. had to redo a few because apparently "Big Ass Sasquatchy Hobbit Feet" don't match up with pink bridesmaids dresses that well.

I just checked out Finger and yeah that could be pretty fun if you hooked a foot controller like the 12 step or soft step to it. you could do some REALY crazy live bass shit with that

fuck. i'm so torn about the 12 step. fucker is TINY. damnit. dunno if i can use it live. but it's got such a cool feature set. but then it was like $260 or so, so if it's not just DELICIOUS i should return it and get something else.
